Choices...

"One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility”
― Eleanor Roosevelt

This quote came across my mail box this morning...and I have to say that it stuck a cord in me. I have often said that "actions speak louder than words"...and yet I love words! I am a writer...I write down my thoughts...my feelings...my fears...my desires. And yet I am aware that words are often misconstrued...miss read...taken on by the reader and a word is added here or there when reading it and the sentence becomes different...the emotional response becomes different. Words, no matter how nicely written, how colorful, how graphic can evoke a feeling in the reader, but sometimes words leave out emotion at the same time and the reader cannot see your face as you write the words and sometimes it is your face that tells the story of emotions.

Yes, the choices that one makes indeed are our own responsibility...and we all must live individually with them even when they affect others...The choices that we make can cause great happiness for us and at other times cause our sadness. But that is the one thing about choice that we have each and every day...we can change them...we can switch direction...we can right wrongs we feel we have made and we can begin again.

This summer, for me, has been all about beginning again...my life has changed so much in the past year since Michael has passed...my heart and my head are still spinning from the amazement of it all...
the book being published...a trip to France...and heart fully reuniting with my son and his family...My heart is open and I am just beginning my new path...I am writing again...and I have vowed to restart my art...(all of which have taken a back seat over the past few years)

My choices lay before me like an open book...the pages are blank without words...and I can choose to become whole by picking up a pen...a paint brush...a pencil and begin again today with love for myself in order to love others better!

LIFE IS GOOD!
